As I mentioned several times in some posts, this blog is all about self-exploration. In other words, I’m testing myself. I’m testing whether I can do some tasks which are challenging to me. Video editing is such a task that I’m testing myself on which requires creativity, patience, consumes more time, physically exhausting, especially straining of eyes, should learn a video editing software certainly involving a learning curve to pass, etc.

As a person, overthinking is one of my advantages and at the same time it acts as a disadvantage too. I tried to use them and also control them to do a good job in editing the footage I recorded in our journey to “Hawagala Mountain Peak” in Belihuloya by using the camera DJI Osmo 360 and my DJI Mini 5 Pro drone. In a previous post I mentioned the number of cameras I have. But it’s too overwhelming to record in different gear, export them and edit. So I decided to use only the osmo 360 and the drone on this trip.

There is much to learn about how to operate a drone. Osmo 360 of course straight forward, record, import, reframe in the edit, export and upload. But handling the drone of course requires skills to get the desired shot. The learning curve is a bit hectic, and needs some practice.

Nowadays not only capturing memories are important with fancy devices but also similarly giving life to the raw footage in the edit with some emotional music (aesthetic) in the background is equivalently important to get the attention.

Please enjoy the videos which I’ve posted here on our camping journey to “Hawagala” in Belihuloya on 1st and 2nd of May.
